1880's Saratoga / Barrel Top Trunk.

New one just in, this 1880's Saratoga / Barrel Top Trunk ..Measures 36" long 32" Tall x 22" deep, No Maker name. Complete interior which is paper lined and has a burlap type fabric for compartment surfaces. Images are simply period Victorian Scraps. Both original handles but all stitching is gone. Great flower end corner bumpers and slat clamps with JH Sessions #553 cast iron corner hinge and shoulder set. With JH Sessions #372 middle hinge and other JH Session hardware. This is my first encountering of F.M. Michelson's patented swivel castors which are dated 1881 and 1883. Also has a cloth tray stay which is attached to the tray under side and is to hook into the center hole above the lock. (not shown)
