    (210 items)

Stumbled upon this one, honestly Peggy, while doing my normal trawling of Ebay. You know the way you look at an item and it shows you "People who viewed this item also viewed" and there it was, Listed as possibly Daum - full french description with just 15 hrs to go after being listed for 7 days and had no bids. Clearly Daum collectors know what is and what isn't and this seems to have been ignored by all, despite over 80 views. I had to make it mine. Got a bid in and dropped a big one in the last few seconds - still no competition - hammer down and it was making it's way to the Lancashire Riviera within a few days. My first Kralik caged piece. Stands a little over 10"

      Hi,
What do you think about number 3 in this post ?
      https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/239271-kralik--caged-glass-2
Pay attention to the cage; bands are riveted to top and bottom circular bands, (unlike Kralik pieces). I suspected it was a fake bought in Romania (part that was ex Austria -Hungary).But riveting means more work - more expensive production, not profitable to fake.
      Thank you.

IVAN : My personal view is that no.3 is indeed Kralik.
Justanovice : Almost everyone born in Liverpool claims some Irish ancestry - I'm no different, with Irish Grandparents on both sides - so the luck is with me I guess!
      And thank you Sammyz!

One gorgeous vase, Phil. I like that function on ebay, sometimes it turns up trumps, as here.

Whatever I may have said to you, Phil, it would only have been teasing......

Phil! I am from Liverpool, but no Irish, but a bit of Wales! :)
    12. philmac51 philmac51, 7 years ago
Justanovice : I was once told that Liverpool had been the capital of Wales...The argument doesn't hold much water for me, but go out on St. Patrick's night in Liverpool and you would think it was the capital of Ireland!!
