Got this for free. My parental units got this from relatives in Oklahoma and were going to give it away. It is not in the finest of shape. Being greedy I said give it to me and then drove away filed with glee.
This is in rather rough shape but would have been much nicer than the typical footlocker. A typical foot locker is a thin wooden box not suitable for travel. This one is covered with metal and reinforced just like a trunk. I suspect this may have been for an officer. The enlisted men would put all their stuff in a duffle bag when shipped out of camp. I could be wrong about that.
I have it raised off the ground to avoid further water damage. It will be covered in case of rain or snow. I thinking of putting a small shed on my deck or better yet enclosing part of the deck. Anyway fine care will taken of this footlocker.

I love your comment: Being greedy I said give it to me and then drove away filled with glee. It just struck me as so funny! I love reading your descriptions. This is great, and I love the advertisement showing how the locker is to be packed-- right down to the Camels.
