Well I was able to get the Llama to smile, today, Sunday 6/24/2018, but the other three photographs, are just the other side of the hill, and less then a 5min drive, but were taken yesterday. This is the way to the Flea Market in Concord, Calif. and show Mt. Diablo, from Willow Pass Rd. looking east through the now closed Concord Navel Weapons Station. Another few minutes and I'll be at the Flea! :^D
1. The Llama at his food and water spot!
2. The other side of the hill!
3. The base of Mt. Diablo!
4. Mt. Diablo, 3849'
Thank you for looking, Concord is where I grew up, and where I bowl now! :^)
Hey bobby, thank you for taking a look, and giving a love for what you saw! :^)
Looks like some old ammo bunkers on the other side of the hill.
Thanks Brian, yes you're right, they are bunkers, and it wasn't very long ago that if you went on google earth and looked at this area it would be blurred out, and also, an area where nuclear weapons were stored, "so it was said, and denied!" :^D Now they test the google driverless cars out there, and you can see the area on the Weapons Station property, that now belongs to the city of Concord. Still being cleaned, before any building, can be done.
Thank you for the love too! :^)
I LOVE the llama, what a majestic pose! He's quite tall, body as high as the fence. Does he have an owner or caretaker, his thick fur could use a brushing, otherwise he's a real beauty
Thanks Jenni, yes he's the celebrity animal in the neighborhood, for sure! :^D He is cared for, and may be clipped soon, but a Llama's fur, or wool, is very fine, but thick, and he will shed that matting, when his winter coat starts to come in.
He's about 150' away, when I took this photo, and normally will come up to the street to see the people, and their animals, that come by to see him, but I think he was eating, and getting some water, up by the owners home. When you asked for his photo, yesterday, I grabbed my camera, and went down to see him, but of course, he was at the other side of his lot! :^D
Thank you all for the love, Jenni, Rose, Judy, and Pascal, it's always nice to have you stop by to see my posts! :^)
A couple of Llamas excaped their owners pen last year and spent the summer hanging around town eluding all attempts to capture them. This was the summer of Llama drama.
Must have been Roy! Thanks! :^D
Thank you much for the love, Roy, aura, and Kevin, it's appreciated! :^)
Thank you for your comment keramikos! :^D This guy, and the others, that have also lived here, seem to like their home, so haven't escaped, the Coyotes, and Dogs, that sometimes find a way into his fenced area, and tried to do harm, have been the only problem, and I think most people in the neighborhood, enjoy seeing him there! :^)
Thank you both for taking a look, and loving what you saw, keramikos, and mikelv85, its always nice to get! :^)
Thank you for the love Mary(Poire)! :^)
