The AEC Tipper Truck was released in 1969. According to my usual source the Douglas version was released 1969 and the Pointer version in 1970. Looks like that is correct as my 1970 catalog does not show this as Superfast. In 1970 almost all their models had the superfast wheels to compete with Hot Wheels. Also they had a different box. Very rare to see an F style box in 1970.
As can be seen the bed tips up and down and does not require hand support to keep the bed up. Also the tail gate opens with the help of gravity when dumper is dumping. Fairly basic but it was only 55 cents.
I have a hybrid version around here someplace. The paint scheme of one and the sticker of the other. These things happen in the world of toys.
