This Fish Pendant was part of my great aunt's estate. The mouth is hinged so something can be placed inside. Maybe perfume? The jaw is stamped "SILVER".
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Here's one that a friend of mine had me post for her:

They seem to be very popular! :^)
Very nice one, a mid 20th or earlier Chinese export gold finish sterling or 900/1000 silver metal mesh koi fish. Turquoise stone eyes. The opening depending on how big the pendant is could be a hiding place for something small, some of the bigger figurines they made in this style such as birds and bigger fish also has hidden cavities, all were marked with silver and had some enamel applications. Thanks for posting it. :-)
I have posted one in silver but with one of the jewelled eyes missing. I was told that it was a poison pill holder. Neil
Heard that too, but it is more a nice mysterious theory than a practical application. I really like these, had a few of my own. :-)
Check out if it might be a vinaigrette (not for vinegar). Something that a sponge would be placed inside soaked with perfume. To conceal your or someone else’s odor.
It may be too new for a vinaigrette.
Thank you all for your info and comments.
