I currently have 3 boy scout uniforms I am working on and this patch of patches is perfect. Well close enough to perfect. The thing here is that with these I can complete three shirts with some left over.
Every boy scout has a rank of which there are six. I have here the Tenderfoot and Second Class Rank badges times two. The top two patches in photo #2 are the Tenderfoot and Second Class badges from the 1950s/1960s. The top two in photo #4 are the same from the 1970s.
Position patches are less common although with all the positions available there are plenty to go around. In the lower right of photo #2 is the Scribe patch. This is a troop level position. The scribe takes down notes from the meetings. Main purpose in being a scribe is to advance in rank although I am sure there are other reasons. In the top of photo #3 are the Patrol Leader and Assistant Patrol Leader patches which are more common as they are of course on the Patrol level. In the lower right of photo #4 is the 1970s Patrol Leader patch. I got the 1970s patches and a near complete 1970s uniform at the Long Beach Antique Flea Market along with the arrows. One of the sellers asked what I shot with the arrows. Looked in my cart and said "Oh you shot a boy scout". Then I bought a Matchbox car from him which ties together many of this week's posts.
