    I don't really know much about this little guy. He was my sister's, and I recently found him in a drawer of just "things". I'm wondering what it might be made of. Seems cold to the touch. He's maybe 2.5" tall. There seems to be a marking on one of his feet. Who is he?

      Chinese and is a Netsuke if that is a hole I see by ear and it goes all the way through to other side .

      Oops I meant Japanese but looks more Chinese and appears that it could be carved ivory .

      I think it's one of the seven gods of good fortune in Japan, seems to have been finished with a clear solution, the foot has a partial signature. The curled beard might be the open cavity to use to attach it as a decorative toggle. Very nice.

      i agree with of truthordare, the problem is i just bought an usb stick 1537 marks, and i could not find it

      Waki said he bought a computer program that contains 1537 images of these type of stamps/marks and he could not find them. He specializes in appraising Chinese Artifacts. He's in the Netherlands, so sometimes doesn't translate well.
