I don't really know much about this little guy. He was my sister's, and I recently found him in a drawer of just "things". I'm wondering what it might be made of. Seems cold to the touch. He's maybe 2.5" tall. There seems to be a marking on one of his feet. Who is he?
I think he's Japanese and some sort of resin. The people to ask are the FB group on Japanese arts:

Chinese and is a Netsuke if that is a hole I see by ear and it goes all the way through to other side .
Oops I meant Japanese but looks more Chinese and appears that it could be carved ivory .
Thank you!
I think it's one of the seven gods of good fortune in Japan, seems to have been finished with a clear solution, the foot has a partial signature. The curled beard might be the open cavity to use to attach it as a decorative toggle. Very nice.
i agree with of truthordare, the problem is i just bought an usb stick 1537 marks, and i could not find it
apostata, that's great. No idea what you're talking about. Probably spam...
Waki said he bought a computer program that contains 1537 images of these type of stamps/marks and he could not find them. He specializes in appraising Chinese Artifacts. He's in the Netherlands, so sometimes doesn't translate well.
Okay. I didn't know that. Thank you.
