Wow! You do have quite the collection! These are really nice. The two tall ladies in first pic are gorgeous. Love the flower detail on their dresses. How do you display them all? BTW, welcome to Collectors Weekly-it can get quite addicting :)
Beautiful figurines, all so different with their own style. I esp like the cute kittens and the Asian ladies
Welcome to CW!
Great first post, these are wonderful.
Thank you all for your kind and welcoming comments! Mrs. Tyndall - I'm still in the process of figuring out displaying them. I'm in the market for a couple of nice hutches. I have been looking on Pinterest for other ideas on displaying them. For now I have some in my entertainment ctr hutch. The names of the 2 tall asian figurines are Cho Cho and Sakura, I proudly display them on my fireplace mantle, I also have another pair in mint green gowns. Only two of the figurines in the grouping picture are not Josefs. My daughter went around the house counting them the other day and told me I have over 100 (shamefully didn't know I had this many). In an effort to create a perfect collection I've had the misfortune of buying damaged ones that were described as "perfect" in their listing but low and behold were damaged when I received them. It happens, these are small and it's easy not to notice damage sometimes. When I have them better displayed I'll be sure to post more pictures. I have fun collecting these and don't intent on stopping anytime soon. I'll have to let go of some I have to make room for new ones. I have some listed on EBay already and am in the process of listing more. My favorite part is trying to figure out their names, series they belong to, etc. I have the guide books but they're not always in there. Doing research online has also been very helpful. I also love to find anything I can on the artist Muriel Joseph George.
I've always found Josef Originals to be very cute also. Love the Asian ones!
VintageBombshell, I wish you luck in finding a cabinet for them. They would look so lovely together displayed. Yes, I totally understand buying off line. Perfect condition to a seller is not always the case-sometimes I think maybe it was something very small and could be missed.
It is fun to collect and find good deals and research. I have found most of what I have at thrift and yard sales :)
Very nice collection, and welcome to CW VintageBombshell! :^D I have a few of these Josef Originals also, very cute, and very collectible! :^)
Thanks for the welcomes, loves and kind comments Shareurpassion, nutsabotas and billretirecoll! I wish I could get out to yard sales more often, too early and I have insomnia. I tried estate sales but they make me kinda sad. I've had a lot of luck on EBay, Goodwill and Etsy. I've also found some treasures in thrift and antique shops :)
