I found some nice shelves to display part of my trench art collection. Here is the right shelf, now in my sun room.

This one contains many of the planes and other miniatures that I have collected.

Use of my photos without permission is prohibited.

    Thanks for looking

Beautiful ! I can just imagine the soldier designing & figuring how to make their piece of art. Not lie the had lathes, drills etc. with them.

Much of the WW2 trench art was made by SEABEES-- they had all sorts of equipment to produce some of the more exotic pieces.

Lot of spare time when a "grunt" and many probably making friends with CB's & people who have access to needed equip.. We all did.

There is a great book by Jane Kimball that shows all sorts of folks (soldiers, sailor, local craftsmen...) producing trench art:

Afraid my "local Library" doesn't have the book. After hurricane Irma, there are very few books left. Tried to get some donation help while I was in KY.

      Scott,
Sorry I am late to view this entry but I have to say, an impressive collection. I agree that the Bombers are few and far between and, with up to 4 engines, lots of work to create. The craftsman/artist had to be truly dedicated to those projects. Thanks for keeping these on display and good luck with future acquisitions. Tom
