Modern as from 2012. Matchbox still makes a few good models although Matchbox is only name now. Mattel now owns the name and there is no more Lesney.
This model is the famed truck/van made by dodge in the 1960s. These were often used as wheel standers in drag racing exhibition matches. I sought but did not find my wheel standers. But I did get this free VW Hot Wheels model. It was a free grab bag bonus for buying 4 models from the vendor. I need to sneak in a photo of their truck. It is a lot of fun going through it looking for stuff.
Back to proper vintage stuff next week.
I've always liked that type truck. Especially after I saw the Little Red Wagon in the hot rod/drag magazines I read as a kid. It held the fastest truck record for quite a while. You are correct about the wheel standing, the front wheels never felt pavement until after it went through the traps. Nice share again, it brings back memories. I knew you'd make the deadline for Matchbox Monday.
Thank you very much Toyrebel. I have a few photos of the VW version so perhaps I will post that next. I think I have a Johnny Lightning version of the Little Red Wagon. I have seen the actual vehicle in the long ago. Hopefully I can figure out where I put my wheel standers.
