Ihave always called this the BAR gun as in a bar where you order drinks but it is properly referred to by its initials as in B A R. Now many of you at home may be wondering (or not caring) what is a B A R? A B A R is a Browning Automatic Rifle. Which is a a fully automatic rifle with a heavy barrel but not so heavy as the belt fed machine guns. Has the bipod but only a 20 round magazine so it is good for 2 seconds of full automatic fire. Best to select semiauto. Anyway the US used these in WWII and about 1 in 9 guys of an infantry platoon would have one or 1 per squad. Note this was Clyde Barrow's (of Bonnie and Clyde) favorite weapon. It could crack the engine block of a police car and other parts of a police car. I believe he was eventually killed by police armed with the same weapon.
OK let us proceed with the 1:6 scale action figure here. It is made by Dragon Models which is famed for its well detailed tank models. I think they entered that market in the late 1990s, the 1:6 action figure market that is. These are among the most detailed of the 1:6 action figures. To give an idea of the detail the figure has ammo pouches to carry the 12 magazines (do not call them clips). And they actually made 12 magazines to fill the magazine (do not call them clips) pouches. In the last photo you can see the riffle with 2 of the magazines (do not call them clips). Note you can see the bullets at the end of the magazine which everyone now knows is not called something else. I am thinking some should have been made to look empty to be strewn about as if in a combat situation. Also note that that which is not be called a clip detaches from the rifle just like the real thing.
Tomorrow a rather standard edition of Matchbox Monday is coming up but stay tuned anyway.

Dragon's detail is impressive, I like that it has the barrel remover handle. Clyde loved the BAR. The BAR also was to be the couple's executioner. Frank Hamer and his posse used them in the famous ambush of them. The the six lawmen all used BAR's, not Thompsons like in the movie. 120 rounds of 30.06's went through, not just in, the car and occupants in 2 seconds! I love 1/6 weaponry, especially when it is a fine rendition of a legendary rifle like this. Please post some more Joe stuff in the future if you have the time. Waiting to see what the Matchbox will be.

Thank you! Our household was 5 daughters, my mom and Dad. So, understand why I don't pay much attention to "boy" items :-)
But you got my attention: something about "BAR" dragged a deep memory to the surface. My dad used to talk about the BAR on rare occasion when I would get to hear him talk about his WWII combat experience.
I've mostly just read about his experience that earned him a Bronze Star and a Battlefield Commission to First Lieutenant.
He was one of those men you could describe a "tough as nails" but he had a soft and generous heart.
And he could tell some funny, exciting, adventuresome tales, recalling names, places, models of cars, types of guns- all stories needing no embellishment: the true stories were enough!
He had a keen wit right to the end. He lived to be 93 and died in his own bed at home. God bless him!
Now I know what a BAR was (is). And the magazine pouches he carried...I think he had one of those I used to play with, along with his mess kit, in the 1950s.
Thank you for a most EDUCATIONAL post!
I'll be thinking of Daddy with another bit of understanding.
