I am looking for help to ID/ date / id materials for this Handmade hand hammered copper /brass? clad Firewood / Kindling Box / Chest.
I am not sure of the exact age but is definitely old with a great Patina. The inside chain is broken and one of the legs on the bottom is missing (which I believe were added after it was made.) The inside I believe is lined with tin, which has quite a bit of rust.
The nails hammered to the side of the casing are very rustic looking and not in a straight line.
It has very ornate handles and it is just the exterior that is clad in /copper brass, although it is quite heavy.
The box measures: approx 28 inches x 13 inches x 13 inches.
Any help or comments are much appreciated!
