This is a plate I inherited from a great-aunt. It has the number 90463 on the back with what appears to be some type of signature mark. The Carl Tielsch Altwasser mark places this plate somewhere between 1875 and 1935. It hung in my aunt's house for as long as I can remember, then was given to me after she passed.
Welcome to CW ecullen! :^D
Your Plate looks like it's from the Egyptian Revival, here's some information about it:
The Egyptian Revival flourished during the period 1820-1850.
The Egyptian Revival made a comeback during the 1920s with the Art Deco style and the fascination with the discovery of King Tutankhamen's tomb in 1922.
So your Plate is probably from around 1922! I hope this helps! :^)
What a beautiful plate
Thanks much for the information and the compliment! Nice to know some more about this family heirloom.
Please could you take some extra photos - you are allowed four photos. If you delete the one you have, you can take four more in its' place. Especially need a clear pic of the back. Always helps in identification.
Many thanks! Welcome to CW!
Thanks for the suggestion. See additiona pictures.
Thank you! Love the larger photo with detail of the centre.
I can see a small rectangle shape on the left shoulder that says CWH(M).
Gillian, those initials in the rectangle are actually CSM. Not sure of the significance.
