Playsets are a good vintage but for the $ in general. You spend $100-200 or so on something, you find a place to put it and there you go. You may take your photos for CW and get a post out of it. This playset costs me $70 and I have already spent a few hours on it. I like things you can play with. Had to play with it a bit extra as my fluffy buddy Smokey pulled it off the table and was exiled for a couple hours.
This set is a bit larger than my previous set which had one of each animal without any ducks or chickens. This one has a generous supply of animals plus some farmers. The farmers are very well detailed. I shall do a post on just them later. Also there are weather vanes.
Anyway unlike other collectibles these are not usually kept on display. Normally they are put away and brought out form time to time. I am thinking I may set up a Fort Apache Playset next.

This is absolutely fantastic!!! I wish I had got something like this hen i was a kid! I remember some farming figurines and so but THIS! This is wonderful!

By the way... Am I seeing some dinosaurs in the farm? hahahahaha

Excellent! I love playsets and I've stated before the farm sets had great play value. Most Marx barns I've seen have green roofs. I wonder if this silver is rarer. Playsets are hard to display unless you have a LARGE room. I can't remember my set very well, but it was somewhat around this size. I don't remember it having as many vehicles and implements as this one. I do remember mine had some various crops you could "harvest" by pulling out of the plastic ground. I'd love to see sone more detail photos of this. I'm also looking forward to seeing your Fort Apache........Fortapache

Thank you very much Newfld. I fear a few animals have been knocked down since I took the photo.

Thank you very much austrohungaro. I wonder how dinosaurs could get into my farm. Probably wandered in off the prairie.

Thank you very much Toyrebel. If I had one of those old Victorian houses with 9 bedrooms that would help. They take up the room of a small train layout. I do have some crops from the other set I haven't posted. Am planning on posting more from this set.
I think I will combine my Fort Apache Carry-all with a conventional set or two. Should be interesting.

Hey! Youre having a play date..... this looks like so much fun. You have to understand my sister and I went to boarding school and my younger brother did not, so he had the cache of toys to play with and we did everytime we came home.

Was a lot of fun for all 3 of us, this when we were 8, 7 an 6. Thank FA, you bring back fun memories. Thanks for posting.

Thank you very much elanski. It is a fair sized set.

Thank you very much truthordare. Not sure I would have liked boarding school because I liked my toys. My pleasure to bring back the memories.
