Seems like there's been a little burst of interesting 'percussion instruments' being shown in the last couple days, so I figure it's a good enough time as any to show these, the latest couple things to join my 'musical noisemakers' box. ;-) :-) Both came from Goodwill for a buck or so apiece within the last year or so, from the 'assorted metalware' shelves.
The red "a-go-go bell" is, quite frankly, apparently actually a sort of real percussion instrument which I was completely unaware of until I brought it home and googled its label info. That quick search confirmed my initial guess (when I found it on the store shelf) that it really *was* some kind of 'thing' -- indeed also one it would seem Amazon can deliver (a variation of) to your door for 17 bucks or so in the next few days, should any of y'all want one of your own...?? <lol> It is a little over 9" at its longest dimension.
The "cowbell" is about 5-1/2" x 3-1/2" x 2-1/2", of chromed steel. There really wasn't any doubt what *it* was when I found it on the shelf, lacking any kind of 'clapper' or means to have attached one to it, it seems obvious it is something made to be clamped to a percussionist's equipment stands instead. It has no markings whatsoever to suggest who made it or when, but I doubt its truly very old.
THANKS for the <loves> to: hunterqlee, yougottahavestuff, blunderbuss2, fortapache, Newfld, elanski, & Brunswick for stopping by and having a look!!! Thomas, that's an interesting (though not surprising I guess?) little bit of trivia indeed?!! <lol>
