Need help identifying this item found in an old barn in Chatham County NC. It’s stamped ‘T R Hall Mfg Co Burlington NC.’

The only thing I’ve been able to find out about this company is that they manufactured butter molds and ice shavers. Thanks.

A burger, I meat, press for a girdle.

Hunterqlee is correct -- it is a press placed atop meat cooking on a (usually commercial) grill/griddle (burgers, steaks, chops, bacon) which aids even cooking and helps prevent 'curling'.
