This model is often referred to as the Hoveringham Tipper Truck but the model is of a Foden Tipper Truck. Tipper is English for dump truck. Hoveringham is the construction company that owns the truck.
This is a classic model that was sold from 1694-1969. There was also a regular Matchbox sized version I will post later. This box style was sold in 1967and 1968 so that narrows it down to two years.
As can be seen in photo #2 the bed lowers up and down with the aid of a simulated hydraulic lift. It actually helps as it holds the bed in position as one uses finger power to raise and lower it.
Wrapping it up is a front and rear view of the box art. In the first photo it looks like the truck is being loaded. In photo #4 the truck has been removed revealing the loader. I think that is the Hactra Front End loader. Above that is the rear view of the box which shows the vehicle along with the lifting bed feature.
This wraps up today's edition of Matchbox Monday. Stay tuned for more exciting items and some that are not all that exciting.
Super excellent Matchbox dump truck, their stuff is great
Tipper or dump truck, either way this is a nice share. I like the cab front end design with the grill especially.
I used to have this one in smaller scale.
