Restoring old trunks is always fun but every now and then I get an itch to design and build one from scratch. I got the inspiration for this one from a book published by Louis Vuitton and decided to build a mini-bar trunk! Housed on the left side are two drop-down shelves and also some slots for bottles, secured by a leather belt. On the right side, there are two upper shelves and then a middle shelf which I fit with 1/4" mirrors . Below is the wine rack which has forward leaning stalls for bottles with small belts straps with buckles to secure. I used a faux suede fabric for lining some of these areas. Attached to the back side of the trunk are a pair of solid brass reproduction roller wheels so that you can pull the trunk around like a dolly. So now, I can take the party with me, wherever I go!
I'll drink to that!!!
Now THAT, my friend, is EXACTLY the idea!
