National Milk was a government Scheme to ensure the supply of milk for mothers and babies when foodstuffs were rationed during WW2.
The contents of the tin were sufficient to make seven pints of reconstituted milk.
This is really a neat item. I still remember my Mother buying Carnation brand powdered milk in the 1960's and 1970's. I'm not even sure if Carnation produces that anymore.
YUKK!!! Reconstituted Milk!!! We had that over in Nam!!! You only drank it ice cold and chugged it down!!! What an aftertaste!!!! It was so bad that we put Chocolate reconstituted milk on our cereal!!! Ice Cream secret!!! when the cream starts to turn!!! They make Chocolate!! ice cream!!!

Thansks jscotto. I haven't seen carnation powdered milk. They still make the condensed stuff though.
Stuff - I didn't think it sounded very nice.
It's right up there with Cod Liver Oil and Castor Oil I used to take when I was a kid!!! Not to mention Kaopetake that was really crap!!! Pardon the pun.
