Found this in the bottom of a box my Dad had. Made by the J.C.Terry company in Springfield Massachusetts. It is brass with a metal screw piece and is approximately 9 inches long, 1 1/2 inches wide. There are grooves on the inside section & a hole in the silver metal just below the upper handle. I know that Terry did make handguns in the 1860's, but this looked newer to me. Any help identifying this would be great !

Thank you slackjack!!! My Dad always had so many antique clocks, so no surprise. He was a draftsman so that was my first thought. I'll have to look & see if there are any other parts laying around.
