Inspired by Bill's pictures of his Peaches yesterday...more *kitty bellies*!! ;-) :-)
The first (selfie) pic is me with my shop kitties Tiggers and Nitwit (aka Tigger and Semi-Tigger) aboard. They've lived in the parking lot/alley/'hood at work for the last ~5yrs or so (where, despite being 'outside cats' they are spoiled terribly, trust me?!!) and are actually "cousins" who have grown up together, both being the survivors of two different mamas that spring...there were a *whole buncha* kitties in the alley that year?! :-)
Nitwit has long been my 'cuddly lap dog', he's always the first to (nearly) demand his spot in the lap a little while after he's had his breakfast, his favorite spots for scritchies are behind the ears, under the chin, and the butt <lol> but he often ends up wanting the 'full belly rub' too, and is always pretty careful to politely keep his claws safely outta the way. :-)
MissTiggers (2nd pic) is probably much more like Peaches -- though she often plops over in a sunny spot seeming to want some semblance of tummy rubbins, she's also much more prone to a quick random swipe (w/claws out, and they're *sharp*!) that can easily draw a drop or two of blood if she decides she suddenly wants to be that way...thankfully not so often the older she gets... ;-) :-)
And the last pic is the official 'chosen kitty' Woda. (also my profile pic who is currently in my lap as I type this...) He is *also* actually a cousin (by a 3rd mama) of Tigs and Nitwit but (like his mama) was the decided "runt" of that spring's litters -- only a teeny tiny little ball of half-a black coat with pointy ears, a tail, and more personality than all the rest of 'em despite also being somewhat sickly -- by later that year (the first cold, long holiday weekend) I couldn't stand to leave him out there, so he ended up being scooped up for a quick visit to the Vet (shots, etc) before starting his new life as the official ROYAL HOUSE BEAST and RULER OF MY KINGDOM, a post which he happily retains to this day. As can be seen in his pic, he is nearly *never* averse to the idea of getting his fat belly rubbed on...? <lol>
;-) ;-) :-) :-)
Looks like love at first Cats to me! :^D Peaches is usually careful with me, and I in return, know, when and where it's ok to hold and pet! My Wife though, temps fate and tickles and pokes, until Peaches lets Her know enough, is enough, with a scratch, or nip, which brings another touch, that makes Peaches leap away, and run off to her room, then return to me looking for comfort, which I always give with a scratching to her chin! Nice post and story Roycroftbooksfromme1! :^)
Oops, AnythingObscure! Sorry! :^)
My cats are in a lot of my posts. Usually due to them being black they are hard to spot.
Love your cat trio, with tongue out in 1st pic MissTiggers looks very like her tiger ancestors!
All cats are wonderful!
Yay! Catman! ;-)
Love your friendly felines ^..^
So true keramikos, so true! :^)
"spunk personified". Yuppers, that's my little WodaBeast... ;-) :-) :-)
THANKS SO VERY MUCH to yougottahavestuff, Watchsearcher, aura, charcoal, Roycroftbooksfromme1, billretirecoll, fortapache, Newfld, artfoot, iggy, EZa, welzebub, kyratango, keramikos, Rivertrout, & jscott0363 for your kind comments and <love it>s for my little herd-o-furballs!! :-) :-) :-)
Kera, that's pretty much what Woda was too for his first few months of life -- literally only a 'comfortable handful of belly' in size then, he eventually grew into his ears/tail for his now more 'proportional' handsome self...? <lol>
And YES, nearly every day I also think to myself that I wanna bring Nitwit and Tiggs home too...but if I did so that'd create a whole new mess of 'adjustments' (not to mention 'expense', and 'food', and 'cleanup') for all of us, and I'm not yet ready for all that...
Aww...I love your kitties. I have an orange tabby. Now there's a belly for you ( bigggg girl) ...lol . I'll have to post her picture sometime. -Mike-
THANKS SO KINDLY to Vynil33rpm, valentino97, farmlady1, & mikelv85 for your additional <loves> & <likes>! :-) :-) :-)
Unfortunately there is also seemingly some terribly sad news to report at this writing, 26 days after my original post. Miss Tiggers has "gone missing" for 6 days in a row now...nobody has any idea what might have happened to her or where...seemingly including Nitwit who has spent a little too much of his morning laptime all week staring off at the back fence, as if he's also hoping she'll just 'pop up' from one of her usual hidey-holes somewhere, like usual... :-( :-( :-(
And thusly I'm now back to thinking bad thoughts...I couldn't quite think of suddenly going from one to three cats in my little house...but one to two might be doable...? Wonder if there really *is* any chance they'd get along with each other, they *are* cousins after all, even though they haven't actually seen each other for most of their lives...?? <sigh><headdesk>
