Let it be known that my guess on the time period is just a guess. There was an earlier set which had a leather case. As this onew is vynil I will go with 1970s or later. Now days they probably can not carry a fork let alone a knife. Speaking of the fork and knife they both fold although the spoon does not. Also the fork acts as a bottle opener to open the scout masters beer bottles.
a quick note here that vinyl is better than leather for utensils for the purpose of cleanliness. Leather holds in moisture. Another quick note for those with vintage knives, do not keep them in a leather sheath, that can lead to rust.
For an idea on size the fork is about 6" when extended.
Utensil set and mess kit together is the last photo.
Very handy scout accessory
They had vinyl when I was a scout around '66. They probably phased out the leather in the early 60's because I had a leather utensil set in a group of Items that I know came from around '61.
Looks like what I had!! I burned everything I cooked.
