The Marx 12" Cowboy line has several names such as Best of the West and Fort Apache Fighters. But generally the line is called Johnny West. Johnny West was just one of the many figures from the line. Perhaps it is because he was the patriarch of the West family which included wife Jane, sons Jay and Jamie and daughters Janice and Josie. Now on with the show.
Photo #1 is the Fort Apache Fighters series. Captain Maddox, General Custer, Zeb Zachary, Bill Buck, Geronimo and Fighting Eagle made up that line. Underneath are some transitional boxes when the line was in flux along with a couple boxes from the JWA line at the far left.
Photo #2 is my Indian village with Best of the West Boxes (BOTW) in the background. BOTW was from 1974 and was the second from last of the line. They are hard to find.
Photo #3 are the BOTW boxes with cavalry figures including a very rare JWA Maddox. Also Sherriff Garret and the bad guy Sam Cobra.
Wrapping it up is a pile of the West kids boxes. I believe I have an example of all the American boxes there along with a Canadian Jay West box. Along with the boxes are some variations on the Jay West figure along with either Daniel Boone or Bill Buck in the back. They had the same head so hard to tell at times.

This is great! I've never seen as big of group of the series before. Evidently the West family is a lot bigger than I remember. I guess Kanye wasn't born until after the series came out.

      Thank you very much elanski.

Thank you very much Newfld. There is more.

Thank you very much Toyrebel. That is probably less than half of the collection. The West had 4 kids so there are 6 total. But then there are variations on each figure. IE there are 4 main versions of Jay plus the Jay/Jamie hybrids and then the Canadian figures and so on.

I saw something cool that you would love at a new antique store. A whole Johnny West Best Of The West store display! I loved it myself but there was no price on it and I wasn't sure if it was actually for sale.
