Apparently Spain has a healthy knife and bayonet industry. This is yet another Toledo blade with the Toledo symbol on it. But what gives this away as a Spanish blade is the bolo design. That would be the thin mid section of the blade that gives this away as a bolo. Also it is thick to be used a chopper. Because bayonets are used about 99.99% of the time as tools
When I buy something I look forward to doing a bit of research on the item. I type in bolo bayonet and there it is done in 15 seconds. M1964 Bayonet for the CTME Model C Rifle. That was a 7.62mm select fire rifle generally known as a battle rifle. Looks like an Assault Rifle but fires a larger round.
In the last photo I have it with the famed Spanish Artillery knife which was replaced by the M1941 bayonet (not shown). The bayonets are similar aside from the cross guard.
Coming up next I believe will be the rest of Johnny West.

I have a couple of these for my FR8. Great quality bayonet.

"Assault rifle" is used as a propaganda term now. Soldiers don't trade in their AR's & get issued "defense rifles" when on the defense.

An assault rifle has selective fire with options to both fire one round with one pull of the trigger and multiple rounds with one pull of the trigger. If a rifle can't do that it is not an assault rifle. AR15s, AKMs, etc., are not assault rifles. Technically an assault rifle must also use an intermediate cartridge, which is shorter and less powerful than a battle rifle cartridge and may be more easily controlled when firing multiple rounds in quick succession.

BTW, these bayonets should never be sharpened. That will reduce their value.

Thank you very much kwqd. I think this knife would be over $100 if sold as new. It is a good knife. Feels good in the hand and strong and effective.

Thank you very much bb2. Yes the same rifle is used for offense and defense. The guys who drive trucks and cooks get the shorten versions.

Back to kwqd. I think you have properly defined assault and battle rifles very well. And yes sharpening is bad.

I think it is bb2's turn to tell someone their antique knife is a tourist item of low value.

These bayonets are selling for $20-$40 in unmolested condition. No idea of the value of the larger blade.

I usually leave that to less sensitive CW followers, but you asked for it. This is obviously a Middle Eastern fake made for the tourist market. It was made by Mohamid Sinclair (Scot father) in Bumfkstan on Feb. 5th. When finished, he had a ham sandwich and chased it down with a Gaddafi beer. He was stoned to death for using English mustard on the sandwich. The English made him a mustard martyr.

Yes kwqd that is correct. I was referring to a knife of this quality by an American maker or such.

Excellent bb2. Someone should be posting one of those knives any minute now.
