Last week our subject for Taxidermy Tuesday was a rabbit which many think is a rodent but it is not. Rodents have teeth that grow throughout their lives and their teeth have an orangish yellow color. Those big front teeth that is.
This skull is all of 2 1/2" long. Looks like it has large eye orbits but they have small eyes. Must be large cheekbones then.
In photo #3 we have Mr Rabbit Skull back for a side by side comparison. The difference in the teeth color can be easily seen.
Wrapping it up is a muskrat pelt which is actually quite a nice looking pelt. Muskrats were introduced in many parts of the world for their fur. Originally they were from North America.
Coming up next week, umm I still haven't decided yet.
