Neil, Collectables59, has an impressive pocket watch key collection.
I thought I would show some pocket watches that need a key to wind & set the time, known as Key Wind Watches.
The first one is a, E. Howard & Co. of Boston, Mass.
It was manufactured in 1867.
The center arbor, square post, is for setting the time (standard #5 key).
The arbor to the right is for winding the watch ( Pinfire Pistol key).
The majority of my keys are for function only, whereas Niels' keys are very ornate.
There are 14 different watch key sizes, but 3 or 4 keys fit most U.S. manufactured watches.
These keys can be attached to your pocket watch chain & used as a fob, as to have it handy when needing to wind or set your watch.
Thanks for looking,
Dave
