No box so can't narrow this one done. No variations through its production from 1962 through 1967. It is a nice cream color as opposed to white. Looks much better that way. As this is an early model so no glass but it does have a detailed interior of sorts. Not only in the front but in the back too. And it has opening rear doors, not bad for a 1962 model. Also a practical design for an ambulance as there is room for the personnel. In the late 60s and 70s ambulances based on station wagons were popular. Matchbox has a couple of the station wagon ambulance models.
Now I need to get a boxed version of this.

Nice. Toys don't always have to be mint and boxed to be worth collecting.
LCC (London County Council) was in charge of operating ambulances from 1930s to 196os until it was amalgamated into the New Greater London Ambulance service covering a much bigger area. Yours must date to right at the end of that period I should think.
