My Dad left me these tools but did not tell me what it was or what is used for I have been trying to find out for years, any ideas.
Hope the pics are better, conical shape.

Only one picture shows the calibrations and it doesn't enlarge. Based on that one picture I would say you have what are commonly called, go-no go measuring plugs for measuring the inside diameter of a tube or pipe etc. They were quite common a few years ago, today a laser does it faster and more accurately.
Do the 3 pcs fasten together somehow, or are they 3 distinct things? I too would like to see a closer pic/get more description of the scale markings (or any other) on it/them. It is also difficult to guess exactly *how big* they are by your pics, that info would certainly help too.
Thank you for your comments fhrjr2 and AnythingObscure, I will try to get better pics and measurements.
@ AnythingObscure, the pieces don't fasten together.
Thanks for the further pics chulirica1! Gotta agree w/ fhrjr2, they're 'taper gauges' to measure *something*, anyway...? :-) The wonderful wooden case they're in would also suggest to me that they were used by a machinist, simply because machinists tend to use lots of similarly beautifully made metal doodads kept in boxes like that...?? :-) :-) :-)
@ AnythingObscure, thank you very much for the information.
