Many Swedish and Norwegian People Immigrated to Minnesota in the 1880s. I have relatives from both of my Parents families, that made the long journey, by Sailing Ships, across the Atlantic Ocean to America, at that time, and settled, in Minnesota, or moved Westward from there. These photos, are from my Mother's side, that mainly settled in Minnesota, but relatives from my fathers side, moved west, early on.
The 1st photo is the five Sisters, that were born from Parents that Immigrated from Sweden, and settled in Minnesota(the one on the right is my Grandmother).
The 2nd photo is of my Grandmother, and her four daughters, at a Cabin at Detroit Lake(the youngest is my mother) I like the name above the door "Ish Ka Bobble", he was a Comic Actor in the early 1900's, and it means other things too! :^D
The 3rd photo is from about 1931, of my Mother, and her three sisters(again my Mother is the youngest)
The 4th photo is from 1946(when my parents got Married) my Father, Mother, Grandfather(Norway Immigrant), Grandmother, and my Mother's next older Sister, at my Mother's Parents Home in Minnesota.(Her parents not so happy, her Sister excited for them) :^D

Thank you for looking, all comments are welcome! :^)

Thanks Jenni, I'm not sure which lake they're on, after-all Minnesota is "The Land of 10,000 Lakes"! My Parents met and got Married in just 6 weeks in Washington DC, my Father was in Port, and my Mother worked for the Government, this photo is when my Mother's Parents, first met my Father, the man that was taking their baby away from Minnesota! They stayed 2yrs, but after my oldest Sister was born in 1948, my Father knew that he could make more money than the .29hr as a Machinist, that he was making there, back in California, it was over $1.hr. and they moved, my Father first, and my Mother and Sister after he had made enough money to support, and send for them.

Thank you Watchsearcher, they were young 21yrs, and my Father, soon to be out of the Navy, but there were many tears shed, my Mother was the Baby of the Family in Minnesota, and a stranger was taking her away! {:^(

Thanks for all the information keramikos, I had heard that expression before, and may have known about it, but when posting the Detroit Lake Cabin photo, it was the first time that I noticed it, and assumed that's why I remembered, my Mother saying that at some time! :^D
Yes the fire that burned my oldest Sister's Home, and a lot of our Family Heirlooms, along with generations of photos, happened after my Mother had died, and we had sold her home, and took those things to my Sister's so we could all go through them together, but that day didn't come soon enough, the Fire did! :^(
