Hello,
I'm tryng to figure out what these are. They were in a photographers Darkroom. I do not see any markings on them. The 2 different sizes lead me to believe they would be used in processing 2 different size films.
Any assistance is appreciated
Thanks
These are film winders for metal development spools (reels). The rounded ends fit into the center of the spool. Film is inserted into the flat parts in the slots. The end of the film is then pushed into the center of the spool. The flat parts are curved to bend the width of the film so that it clears the reel wires. Of course all of this is done in complete darkness. After the film is wound on the spool, it's is plunked into a stainless steel metal tank. It's probably a Kindermann or Honeywell winder ... unsure. I always wound by hand without the winder because they tended to scratch the film edges.
Thanks to rniederman for helping identify these items. The assistance is greatly appreciated.
