The third and final of the permanent exhibits at the Los Angeles County Fair Grounds aka Fairplex. This is a good choice for this location as there is also a drag strip which is the home of the Winter Nationals. One thing I haven't mentioned is that the LA County Fair grounds are at the very edge of LA County and I forget what my point is there.
For this post I am featuring their vintage rails also known as dragsters. I have posted some of these before I think but they have a large collection which they rotate. Tours of the place where they keep the whole collection would be interesting.
It starts off with a TV Tommy Ivo dragster. I think I counted four of his cars here.
Next are some of the shorter early examples. As time goes on they get longer and longer. I think this covers the early 1960s to 1970. The last photo is a proper rail, a frame with an engine and tires. I think that is my favorite era for dragsters.
Fabulous dragsters & great museum
