This is a Hubley/Gabriel #1805 Road Grader I picked up. I don't collect a lot of Hubleys made after 1965 when Gabriel acquired Hubley.
But it was in good shape and real cheap. Plus I needed a grader for my orange/gray #511 carryall set. The carryalls normally came with the older #481 grader(pictured on the green/white carryall). The 1805 is similar in shape over all to the 481 but made with hollow plastic tires, a lever instead of a steering wheel, a different style driver's compartment and it lacks the pivoting rear suspension. In other words cheaper. I put some rubber tires I had from a junk 481 I had on it. I'll probably get another 481 eventually, but for the price I couldn't pass it up. I need the #506 carryall set with the 51 Ford cab to complete the different carryall sets.
Thanks,
Bill
Thank you so much, Brooch, I love graders also. I remember my father putting in seat of a grader after hours at a construction site when I was about 3. I've loved construction equipment since then.
Great find!! I love this road grader! Looks great on the trailer.
Works great with the carriers. Graders are great.
Thank you very much, jscott. This is one of my top favorites of the 500/510 series. It looked good and had a great play value with the grader load.
Many thanks Apache, I'm gregariously grateful they were gracious enough to make a great grader also. They only had two other loads for the lowboy. I've shared the airplane already, the other came in a construction set that I need to get around to finish restoring. I think you'll like it.
