PLEASE see my earlier showing of several more of these, here:

    https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/255606-antique-brass-pipe-organ-tools--tuning

for the whole backstory of what they are and what they're used for. I don't wanna re-type all that again... ;-)

I just came across this matching set of 3 today in a drawer I haven't looked into for awhile. In total honesty I'm not certain I can claim them as 'my own'...though I will remain with my strong suspicions that they also came in that aforementioned box with the rest of those I've already shown. After all, that drawer I looked into today isn't actually 'mine', (belonging instead to one of my bosses who also enjoys cool old tools) but the fact remains the particular drawer didn't really *exist* in our shop until roughly the same time I bought the storage locker stuff...he might have very well sorta 'snuck 'em away' for 'his own' (along with one or two other pieces I am aware of) without my noticing. No matter any of that, now I know where they are ifn's I want/need 'em... <LOL>

This set is slightly different from my others in that they aren't made of completely solid brass, as can be seen their pointy-ends are cast to be mostly hollow. In functionality this would make each tool slightly "lighter" in weight than a fully solid one, theoretically making them actually more well engineered (for tiny, non-visible adjustments?) than my others. Only theory on my part for all that -- nowadays the majority of organ pipes are tuned by other much less 'permanent' (but infinitely more adjustable with much less risk of physical damage to them) means, so it is truly an unusual opportunity for me to actually find need to use any of them.

Even more guesswork on my part suggests (for no particular reason other than 'a feeling') that this set is probably somewhat newer than the others I've shown -- by how many yrs/decades I also don't know, just that they don't seem to have what would be normal toolbox 'wear marks/scars/etc" to quite the same degree as my others despite being naturally a little more fragile in their design.

THANKS MUCHLY to bobby725, fortapache, Watchsearcher, ho2cultcha, elanski, jscott0363, Irishcollector., yougottahavestuff, & Brunswick for having a look and tapping your <love it> buttons!

I also greatly appreciate y'all's kind comments. I'm really most pleased to be able to show off my stuff like this, which in practical reality nearly *nobody* else in the world would probably be able to identify/explain with authority...?

After all, isn't part of the point of CW's S&T to help preserve and share info about any and all such obscurities of life...?? Seems like that's what I'm constantly enjoying the most about being a member here, anyways...?? ;-) :-) :-) :-)
