I've had this bag for years, and I'd like to know its approximate age. The bag is around 8" to 10" long and made of leather. The only markings are First National Bank Vinita - Oklahoma.

Did they use this to try to beat you out of your money
No. If memory serves right, they preferred dime roll fist packs.
No I think it was quarter rolls that's my two bits about that
Can you tell us how the bag was held closed please?
Very cool!
The bag was secured by drawstrings. You can see some of it in the first pic. I believe they are cotton cords with a cotton sheath.
Yougotahavestuff; cute.
jscott0363; thanks.
OK, I see the draw strings but questioned it there was also a lock at the opening. Most of the deposit bags had a lock at the opening. This type bag was used from the early 1900's right up into the 1940's. Usually called coin bags. To date it more closely you would need to research the bank years of operation, mergers, name changes etc. I have a few bank bags packed away. Collectable or not depends on condition, rarity and demand. Few are considered terribly valuable unless they are way older. Regardless, it nonetheless has value and deserves a little research.
Thank you very much. I'll follow up on your suggestion. Value is of no interest to me. I just like old stuff.
