Native American drinking bowl it was found on a creek bank in my village of bethania NC it still has it rim in some parts are missing the bottom is fully intact and has no cracking and complete with a weave design i can tell you it is precolumbian period and one of my best finds
why wouldn't it be part of a cooking bowl?
The rim is part there and it was in the creek the bowl is too small to be used for cooking and this drinking bowl has been seen by experts from tha archeology dept they had agreed it was exactly what i said it was used for
The black inside the bowl is water it was very wet and had to air dry the light color is dry and i can tell you that there is no sign of burning only when they done the making of this piece when it was fired and this find is the only one i had found all i ever found of pottery is the big chunks of broken pottery none were like what i had found it is about 97% intact only three parts are missing for a pottery find this drinking bowl is very well preserved for a creek find it is museum quality find and is now in my collection it has been with me since i found this find during the spring of this year in 2019 of Feb
fantastic, Wayne May has several videos on youtube, and he and his group have found over the last 30 yrs in the eastern states many artifacts, actually in London there are a few drawers of arts and crafts that should be here in the US from the natives. That is an amazing find, you are so lucky.
