I didn't have one of these late 1800's Louis Vuitton Damier Checkerboard Steamer Trunks in my collection so any condition was fine by me. Measures in at 36" Long x 20" Deep x 15" Tall, with original tray. Needs some TLC but nice to have actually have found one. Double address for store locations. Not sure if one could tighten up a time frame from the serial number being 107049. Sorry about the interior photo quality....
Thanks for the love there rocker-sd !!
Sorry Tom not a Louis Vuitton fan, for me personally there's just no eye appeal, they all look the same to me, but if you like it, I'am glad you got one!
Thanks & That's ok Brian..lol I all ready knew your thoughts on these trunks. I am more about the hunt and being able to secure the example. I only really need one to say the slot is filled. So now I have a Moynat, Goyard and a Luois, for the French side of my trunks. Seeing how they show up once in a blue moon from the general public in my neck of the woods, they are a rare find for me.
I love LVs and have always wanted to own one for my collection. Unfortunately, even poor condition is out of my budget range. Very nice addition my friend!!
Thanks for the love blunderbuss2 & fortapache !!
I think you did extremely well on the price you paid!!
Thanks for that Scott... that makes me feel better...lol

Tom as you well know The Daimer pattern was created in 1888 showcased at the world's fair in 1889.
It is a very desirable pattern and a great find. I tend to be a fan because of the materials and methods used. LV did things right that's why they are still around. All Poplar wood, custom canvas coverings ,Brass hardware (jewlery) as well as every nail being brass. embossed leather fine quality linen. Some attached links that may be of some help. Some links are just cool pictures of LV that I collect.Enjoy thanks for the post
