I found this beautiful blue-green glass dish at some yard sale this summer. Other similar items on line call out Mid Century modern and maybe even Murano. It is not marked but nice and heavy. I thought I would add it to my glass crazy file here on CW. Thanks to all who helped me discover this is Murano clam/geode bowl, circa 1960. Lots of information finally popped up.
Definitely Murano ca. 1960
Thanks, how can you tell?
Thank you for your expertise. Didn't know I was sitting on treasure. That's better than any Oak Island find.
My mom loved the green and the amber, I love blue (azure and cobalt) so blue for me is treasure. I have a nice collection of it.
It is a good color combination. Some commonly call these a "clam" form and this a slight variation of a geode bowl. This looks to be the variety produced by Cenedese or Archimede Seguso. Barbini and Fratelli Toso also produced variants of this form.
duda is right , duda is always right because he is one of the best experts in the business
