I salvaged some fine looking brass drawer handles from an old mahogany desk that was set out for trash pickup. While unscrewing the handles, I noticed the name "Drexel" in one of the drawers. The handles are each stamped with 4168 on the reverse.
I thought that I would document this beautiful vintage American made hardware and the style of furniture that it actually came from originally. I went back to take some photos and here they are.
"Drexel Furniture Company was established on November 10, 1903 in Drexel, North Carolina. Today, Drexel Heritage Furniture Industries, Inc is one of the leading furniture manufacturers in the world."
Great post!! I love old furniture hardware. The furniture mostly made now that is put out by the road with a free sign on it!!!! When first rain comes it starts to MELT into the road!!!

Very nice pulls on your piece of furniture. I don't know why but I really love that Victorian stuff.
Hi, I also found some old mahogany furniture with these same exact bails - same #4168 on the back. My piece was missing 1 bail and I have been looking for one for years. Was so excited to see your photo! Any chance you still have them??
