I usually stay away from this kind of vases and other items, mainly because I don't know anything about this. I am not even sure if my vase is Chinese or Japanese. The vase has some wear and small damage but I bought it because I liked the colours. There was a second one like it in the store but slightly different in size. It had more damage than the one I bought but when I went back the second day, someone must have purchased it, too.

I believe that the vase has some age and might have been handmade. It looks lovely when the sun rays hit its surface.

There are no marks on the vase.

Any ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for looking:)

      Many thanks, Newfld:)

BTW, after searching for similar vases I am more inclined to think that my vase might be Japanese and not Chinese. I found some vases very similar to mine and they were said to have a goldstone or mica finish and were Japanese.

Yes, you are right Japanese, colorful Kyoto style standard cloisonne, hand crafted in a studio by master. Dates pre 1935. About 1910-20.

What is your take on it, renedijkstra? I came across some other similar vases, Japanese as well, but with a different attribution. But I am totally out of my field here. I just liked the vase and the colours. Also, it is very hard for me to make a positive identification based only on the Internet. Very often items look and feel so different when you hold them in your hand:)
