This one is about 10" L overall (6" blade, 4" handle) and shows no makers mark I can now find anywhere on it. It was slightly rusty when found, but responded reasonably well to steel wool rubbing (by hand) to clean that off. I've done nothing else to it.
It has an unusually shaped blade which might be intended for some 'agricultural' use, vs. 'kitchen duty'. (as I accidentally found a similarly shaped one while researching the OLD HICKORY butcher knife I just showed, and they call theirs a "cotton sampling" knife?)
I do not know what 'cotton sampling' is, nor whether that's what this knife was really made to do, or when, or by whom. STILL, methinks it was well worth saving from the dumpster...??? ;-) ;-) :-) :-) :-)
THANKS BUNCHES to fortapache, bobby725, Watchsearcher, Newfld, ho2cultcha, Broochman, Irishcollector., yougottahavestuff, Nicefice, Brunswick, & vetraio50 for sharing your <love it>s for this odd old knife! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
