This vase is 9.5" high x 6" at widest diameter and weighs 4 lbs 4 ounces. It has a Kamei label but is not numbered. This is another aventurine on cobalt vase, similar to Karen's posting below. This one is interesting as, judging by the bottom, there is also a red/orange layer. This vase had cork pads attached to the bottom so there is no wear to the bottom or label. I got a good price on this one as there is a smallish scuff on the vase. No idea who actually made this vase.

I made multiple efforts to photograph this vase and still not satisfied with my images. It is difficult to capture the details of this vase.

Thank you bobby725!
This is a really great example of these aventurine vases from Kamei, Kevin.
I just love the shape of it, and the aventurine is so dense!
Photos are great too.
I used to think I knew who made these but like lots of my ideas on Japanese glass I have removed that ID and now just say don't know!
I meant to also say that this vase is such a good example of the Japanese interpretation of glass and how it fits with their style.
It could almost be pottery and the shape is certainly a traditional one, but it is the surface texture which shows their culture. Because of pottery the Japanese love surface texture and subtle colouring changes over it (think Bizen ware) and this is a good example of that.
The Italians would not have done aventurine quite like this.
Thanks Karen!
Thanks for taking a look at my Kamei vase TexasJack!
Thank you kindly Broochman!
Thank you Vynil33rpm, belatedly!
one of my favorite vase is s luge 11" vase from Osaka Kamei in black with swirls of different colors running diagonally.. It is absolutly stunning. I have been searching sadly in vain for their aventurine vase in blue 9 but looks black) with copper/gold swirls that runs dagnoally thruout the vase/I agree that the Murano made aventurine does not seem to be as nice . Thanks for sharing. Let me know if.y ou get tired of it.
Thanks for your comments, ccj. Will do. This is the only one of these that I have seen, a lucky find. I need to redo these images! They are very blurry.
I redid images one and two. A bit better. This vase is hard to photograph.
Thanks, vcal!
