I’m sure that this necklace is by Bernard Instone, the leaves on the front and back is typical of his style. I have never seen him use Butterfly wings before which I associate with Thomas Mott who was well known for making jewellery with butterfly wings. I have thought that their was some kind of connection between Bernard Instone and Thomas Mott with some jewellery which is definitely in the style of Bernard Instone but is marked for Thomas Mott,
As you can see it is a beautiful blue colour with those wonderful Instone leaves and the back were he used to also decorate with leaves, I can’t remember ever seeing the screw type wire in any of his jewellery, I certainly don’t have any with this type of feature. The third photo is taken with the sun on the pendant.
Many thanks for looking
Another beauty !
Gorgeous blue stones, lovely find
No they're Butterfly Wings Jenni! :^D Very nice Necklace Jean, thanks for showing! Take Care and Stay Well! :^)
Gorgeous!
Thank you Manikin:-)))
Thank you Jenni, it’s certainly a little bit different from Bernard Instone. As billretirecoll says they are butterfly wings, but I had to look twice before realising they were butterfly wings, at first glance I thought the pendant was azul lapis.
Thank you billretirecoll, I do have quite a lot of Instone pieces that I haven’t put on CW. We are in lock down in the UK so I have plenty of time to list them. You stay safe also, these are bleak times.
Thank you Mrstyndall, your comment is much appreciated.
Wonderful!!!
It’s definitely different from the other jewellery from Bernard Instone I have Pascale. To be honest if wasn’t for the distinctive leaves, I would have had second thoughts I have never seen work with butterfly wings by him. Thanks for your comment.
Many thanks
