I don't yet (why not?) have my own old wood-box telephone, but I've got this...?? ;-) :-) :-)

Original early 1900's (or older) telephone receiver/earpiece. Black bakelite handle reading "STROMBERG CARLSON TELEPHONE MFG. CO." around its top where its original cloth cord comes out of it, a separate black bakelite 'earpiece' part also screws on and off of its otherwise nickel plated brass 'bizness end', itself also stamped "STROMBERG CARLSON PAT JUN 12" with two more digits I can't quite make out, maybe (18-?) 94.

Pic 4 shows it with the handle unscrewed to show some of its working parts inside. It measures about 6" tall and 2" across its widest, the typical size of such things.

Nice Receiver!! My phone did ring when I cranked it years ago. Maybe someone wired it to ring. A friend of mine found a wooden handle receiver in his barn stuff years ago!!! Pat. date was the year Bell invented it. He got 3 Grand for it. Hang tight to yours!!!

Kera, I'm trying to help Floridagaldeb as much as I can via comments/advice, but not nearly ready to part with my phone receiver mostly because it was a gift from a treasured friend years ago, also because it technically is probably just a wee bit too old (or otherwise incorrect) for FLdeb's phone. Hers would have probably been equipped with a more commonly used (to the best of my knowledge, which admittedly might be wrong?) handheld receiver made of mostly all black bakelite.
