    We have a house that was built in 1925. It is a classic brick seventeen staircase colonial, and it still has all of the original interior and front door locks. Lockwood mfg is a brand of skeleton keys that seems to work on all the interior doors, the number of the key is indicated by the height of the ward on the side of the key. Most were patented March 15, 1898.

      Nice post. I love old skeleton keys. My childhood home had 3 exterior doors whose locks used skeleton keys.
