From a local shop that is having a closing down sale...I've been admiring this Kralik vase for a couple of years. At a heavily reduced price I made it mine at last.
It is made from a single layer of clear glass with a satin iridescent finish, & has an applied green crest on the three - way crimped top rim, as well as an applied trail of leaves & cherries.
The vase measures 17 cm tall, 9.5 cm across the top rim, & 6.5 across the base.
Looks exactly like the edible crystallised fruit my mother used as decoration on a Christmas cake. Yummy!!!
Many thanks, Bambus1920 - I agree, Kralik cherries are definitely the most "delicious" - looking ones...the iridescence just adds that extra touch!
Love the applied cherries-- my favorite applied fruit!

Very beautiful Marin, I love this Vase! :^Q Did you have to drool over it every so often, just to keep people away from buying for that long! :^D Nice Grab! Thank you so much for showing! :^)
Many thanks Scott - & they're my favourites, too! I really like how they catch the light, due to the spherical form. Like the way marbles shine...
Thanks also, Bill! Yes, I'd drop in every now & then to check it out...luckily, it was in a very crowded cabinet, in the most cluttered shop you could ever imagine...so it was pretty well hidden. There's a few more choice pieces of iridescent glass there which I'll might also get before the shop closes down...
Many thanks, Ms.CrystalShip! I too am amazed by how many items like this have survived over the years. And I just love sharing my collection with other folks who enjoy it!
Thank you for posting your beautiful vase! It helped me identify the one I've had for over thirty years. Purchased as a Steuben, antique dealers have also identified it as a Loetz and others. I loved the vase as soon as I saw it and didn't care what it was. But it is much better knowing.
Hi Allyn5157, that's super, I'm so glad that my post was of help to you. I agree, it's always good to learn about the origins of items in your collection. CW has been so helpful to me over the years. Looking forward to seeing some more of your collectio, too!
