Finally found my Webelos neckerchief. I have been looking for it since Memorial Day Weekend when I bought the cap. Now they are together. I still need to finish the uniform with all the proper patches but this is where I am for now.
Webelos are the step between Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. It is actually part of Cub Scouts to be technical.
The date on this is 1972 which is about what I though just by looking at it. Just the back and front of the manual but the inside has useful information. Things as basic as how to pack a suitcase. That is actual useful information. How to use a credit card would also be useful but that should be in high school. The age of a Webelo would be about 10.
As for the uniform shirt worn by Cody that would be about 2000 when they switched to the tan shirt from the cub blue shirt.
The distinctive features of the Webelos uniform are the neckerchief, slider, cap and that nifty arm decoration on the right sleeve seen in photo #4.
Got an MIB King Size coming up for Matchbox Monday so stay tuned.
I don't think we have had Webolo in Australia, but then I was never a cub or scout so may be mistaken.
Cody is modeling well as usual.
Bring on MMM!
We don't have Webolos in UK either. I had the impression it was just a name for the last year of cubs.
Thank you very much racer4four. MMM coming soon.
Thank you very much elanski. It is a name plus some extra steps.
Wow great memories. I was a Webelos back around 1972. I remember the neckerchief and the slide. I believe my uniform shirt was dark blue.
My manual is long gone.
Great post. Thanks
I was in Webelo's in 58 or 59 right before boy scouts. Thanks for sharing.
