Someone asked about 1970s stuff and I replied Pooka Shells. Thus I mow have a Pooka Shell necklace or choker to go with the vintage Levi's chambray shirt of 1970s vintage. The Pooka Shells I am not sure if they are vintage or not but that is what everyone wore back in my teen years along with the Levi's chambray shirt. These shells are a bit square shaped and the ones I had were smaller and rounder but I do recall there being larger ones like these. Neckwear like this was a big 70s thing and if you wore a longer necklace you have to unbutton another button. At least we didn't have to pierce our tongues. Is anyone still doing that one?
As for other 70s trends I recall leather belts and leather watch bands. Pretty sure we wore shoes too of some sort. Oh yes the bell bottoms, oh well.

Those shell necklaces were still going strong into the mid - 1980s in Australia! Especially where I grew up, which was a "surfie" stronghold...

I got a Puka Shell Necklace for Christmas in 1971 and my Parents made sure I knew that they cost $50. ten years later you could buy them anywhere for under $5. now they're back up again! :^D Help keep everyone Safe, Wear a Mask! :^)

Thank you very much fattytail I think.

Thank you very much IronLace. Big here is Southern California, I am seeing a trend.

Thank you very much Valentino97. I do know this shirt has some polyester, it is kind of a faux chambray. I had both kinds and the cotton one would shrivel up and require ironing.
No need to know about Scouts and action figures.

LoL, I had to laugh after just posting my Tonto war bonnet then here fortapache is with a pooka necklace which I have one from the 70's! My best friend's parents were going to Hawaii and asked if I would like anything. I joked and said a puka shell necklace. They had no clue what it was... but they did bring a nice one back for me! It is has heishe cut puka shells some have brown stripes but they are uniform at about 1/4 inch. I'm not as thin as I used to be and it really is a choker now!
