I have talked with all the old timers here. One guessed it is a cheese slicer for slicing block cheese. It's heavy 3 pounds and about 8" wide.
    Anyone know what it is?

My first thoughts looking at the pics tended to be more of a "metal bending/shaping" thing, but that's only from the pics -- otherwise complete and total guessing on my part. Does it actually have anything attached to it that looks like it might have once been a sharpened cutting edge and if so, which part??

Cheese slicer would use a thin wire as a cutter.

Is it all made of metal? A photo of the bottom and back would be helpful.

Congcu, thanks for the response. I added a photo of the bottom of the tool. The cutting blade opening is adjustable like the blade of a plane. Also the arm the roller is on, swings up and down so the roller will ride on anything going through the cutter.

Maybe it was designed to attach to a table with a hole in it so the cuttings would fall through the table into a receptacle. There are holes for bolting it to a table.

Yes it is all steel and cast iron.

Is it me, or does it look like the item is upside down in the photos? Or like it is hanging from the ceiling????

When I upload photos here they get turned 180 degrees. The two arms are fixed; they hold the roller part which swings to allow material to go through the cutter. I am sure it is a cutter of some kind. But what? The cutter is seen in the 2nd and 3rd photos.

The two round head screws attach the cutting blade; the two recessed screws attach the base that feeds material into the cutting blade.
